"WE MAKE COMPUTERS WORK HARDER"
Kaleb Wesolek pushes his pen beyond convention
Drawing since childhood and refining his craft through university, Wesolek credits traditional training for giving him a strong foundation—but not without limits. While grateful for the discipline and technical rigor, he believes real growth begins once you learn how to step outside the rules ingrained by formal education.
For him, unlearning is just as important as learning. Now, Wesolek is focused on breaking past creative boundaries and becoming a freer, more intuitive thinker. Yet traces of structure still surface in his work. Repetition, emphasized patterns, and meticulous details appear again and again—an obsessive precision he openly attributes to his OCD, even when it means spending far longer on a piece than planned. “The more you do it, the easier it gets,” he says.
“Drawing is the base for all artistic outlets.” Lately, he’s been challenging himself to rely less on references and trust his instincts more—allowing the work to evolve organically rather than through rigid planning.
Alongside his personal practice, Wesolek works professionally as a graphic designer in the corporate space. While the experience has sharpened his skills, his long-term goal is to collaborate with a creative agency and focus on branding projects that feel more meaningful and fulfilling. We sat down with Wesolek to talk about Vegas, his creative journey, and where he sees his work heading next.
